Mr. Karl joined Pacific Retail Capital Partners in 2008 bringing to the firm over 25 years of experience in shopping center asset management and operations. At Pacific Retail he applies his vast experience to overseeing the firm’s retail property asset management and shopping center operations including all leasing activity and property management. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Karl was Executive Vice President at Madison Marquette where he reorganized and stabilized the asset management and leasing structure in the western division during a period of strategic change in the company. Mr. Karl also served as Executive Vice President of Shopping Center Management for the Westfield Group between 1996 and 2006 where he was responsible for the performance of all shopping centers in the U.S. portfolio (approximately 70 regional shopping malls), including NOI growth, annual budgeting, long-term forecasting, financial reporting, accounts receivable, capital expenditure programs, the recruiting and development of executive talent, marketing, and new income programs.
Previously, Mr. Karl served as a consultant to Decron Properties in Los Angeles where he created a new commercial property division, and he began his career at The Rouse Company where he was largely involved with downtown retail and urban mixed-use projects. Mr. Karl is a graduate of University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
